CORONAVIRUS: The Centers for Disease Control reported the covid19 death count Tuesday for NYS was 53,225, an increase of 10. Total NYS cases: 2,107,997, an increase of 361. Total U.S. deaths: 597,594, an increase of 251.

NYRA SARATOGA RACING: The New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) will accept full and partial space group hospitality reservations for the 2021 season at Saratoga Race Course beginning Wednesday, June 16 at 10 a.m.
Reservations will be available in the following hospitality areas in the popular Saratoga backyard: the Festival Tent, accommodating up to 240 guests, and the Big Red Spring Tent, available for full space reservations and offering seating for up to 50 fans. Both areas include admission and Post Parade programs.
Group hospitality reservations will also be available in the second-floor Easy Goer, set inside the historic Grandstand where up to 300 fans can enjoy a seasonal-fare buffet. Tickets include admission, buffet and Post Parade programs. Open bar packages are also available.
Additionally, full-space reservations are currently being accepted for Legends Hall, the second-floor event space at the 1863 Club, accommodating up to 100 guests, as well as the third-floor luxury suites, with capacities ranging from 30 to 45 guests. The three-story, climate-controlled hospitality building, located on the Clubhouse turn, debuted during the 2019 season to widespread acclaim.

NYSERDA WEBINARS: New York State Energy Research and Development Authority will hold two public webinars to provide an overview and open a public comment period on the State’s draft Carbon Neutral Buildings Roadmap (Roadmap). The Roadmap provides a framework to decarbonize New York’s building stock in support of the State’s ambitious goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 85 percent by 2050 as mandated by the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act.
Consistent with Executive Orders issued by Governor Cuomo and in keeping with measures designed to limit the spread of COVID-19, the draft Roadmap is being presented virtually. Members of the public are welcome to join via webcast.

BUFFALO -- CUOMO IMPEACHMENT: New York Republican Chairman Nick Langworthy will condemn Western New York Assemblymembers Monica Wallace and Karen McMahon for their secret dinner with Governor Cuomo at the Governor’s mansion while they are charged with the role of investigating Cuomo’s crimes for impeachment at a press conference tomorrow, June 16th at 10:30 AM outside the State Office Building in Buffalo. 
Chairman Langworthy will call on them to relinquish their roles as members of the Judiciary Committee for their breach of ethical conduct.

ENCON GYPSY MOTH EVENT: New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Forester Robert Cole will provide an informational update on the proliferation of leaf-eating gypsy moth caterpillars this year in New York State, resulting in widespread oak tree defoliation in areas across the state.

NYC PROPERTY TAX REFORM: The New York City Advisory Commission on Property Tax Reform today announced virtual hearings on its 10 preliminary recommendations, scheduled for Manhattan on June 16.  All hearings will begin at 6:00pm.  Initially delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the hearings resumed virtually in May with hearings in Staten Island and Brooklyn. The Commission is soliciting input from the public on the 10 initial recommendations in the Preliminary Report, specifically whether they would achieve the goals of a fairer system, would be improved by certain modifications, or should be enhanced with additional recommendations.  To testify, speakers may register at the Commission’s website.  Anyone wishing to testify must register no later than 24-hours in advance.  Following registration, speakers will receive further instructions.    
 Speakers may (but need not) submit their presentations ahead of time by emailing them to PropTaxInfo@propertytaxcommission.nyc.gov or uploading them through an online portal.

ELECTRIC SCOOTER HIT AND RUN: At 2 pm, Sen. Brad Hoylman (D/WF - Manhattan) and Assembly Member Linda Rosenthal (D/WF-Manhattan) will host a press conference at the corner of W 64th and Amsterdam Avenue at 2PM ET to call for the passage of legislation (S.7212/A.8128) that would increase the penalties for conducting a hit-and-run with an electric scooter consistent with the law against leaving the scene of an automobile collision without reporting. Yesterday, actress Lisa Banes passed away after an electric scooter rider hit her and fled the scene two weeks ago on the Upper West Side.

NY METRO CLEAN AIR ACT: The New York Metropolitan Transportation Council (NYMTC) has prepared a draft Transportation Conformity Determination under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. A thirty-day public comment period for the draft Transportation Conformity Determination will begin on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 and ends at 4 pm Thursday, July 15, 2021. This draft Transportation Conformity Determination will ensure that transportation projects and programs in the Federal Fiscal Years (FFYs) 2020-2024 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), as amended, and the FFYs 2022-2050 Regional Transportation Plan, titled Moving Forward, are consistent with the motor vehicle emissions budgets set by the New York State Implementation Plan for Air Quality in relation to relevant nonattainment and maintenance areas. The draft Transportation Conformity Determination has been developed in accordance with relevant federal regulations (40 CFR 93 Subpart A). The draft document will be available to view and download at https://bit.ly/3pVvetK at the start of the comment period.

Currently, our federal transportation funding is dramatically weighted in favor of cars over transit - leaving millions of working people behind. The American Jobs Plan includes $124 billion more for cars than rail and transit combined.
